Last week, I hosted my annual conference, the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference (VRIC).
I would like to share a few highlights.
At the conference, I met a young girl wearing a VRIC hat. I approached her and asked how she was enjoying the conference. Her eyes lit up; “I love it,” she said.
She was nine years old. I asked her what she was learning, and she told me about dividend-paying stocks and why they were a good idea.
My mind was blown.
After chatting with her and her dad, I learned her story.
She read Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad a few years earlier.
Afterwards, her dad bought her some chickens. She raises the chickens, sells the eggs, and invests the money.
She is presently generating $60/month in yield.
Nine years old.
I invited her up on stage to share some wisdom with the audience.
We had a heavier geopolitical contingent at the event than ever before.
There was much discussion about the USA's and China's competitiveness in technological, military, trade influence, and balance sheet areas.
We discussed the recent and seemingly inexplicable drone sightings across the United States and various other regions of the world.
Drones the size of family sedans have been flying low over energy infrastructure, military compounds and government buildings. Still, domestic efforts have been fruitless at tracking and understanding what they are and where they are coming from.
In many reports, they move with airborne agility that our current technology cannot.
I hosted two separate fireside chats where this topic came up.
One was with Col. Douglas Macgregor, Senior Advisor to the United States Secretary of Defense.
The other was with Dr. Pippa Malmgren, former economic and technology advisor to President George W. Bush.
Independently, both mentioned, with absolute sincerity, the possibility that these drone sightings were non-human intelligence.
Non-human intelligence.
I am aware that any mention of aliens should make a person cock an eyebrow, or worse.
But I will withhold judgment.
I imagine that there is plenty we still have to learn.
Case in point…
George Washington died in 1799.
The first dinosaur fossil was discovered in 1824.
So, George Washington lived his entire life without having heard of dinosaurs.
We don’t know what we don’t know.
Thank you to all who attended the 2025 VRIC - it was a smashing success by every metric.
If you missed the event, or would like to watch any of the talks again, be sure to subscribe to both of our YouTube channels, where everything will be released over the next few weeks:
Have an epic Sunday,
Jay
The ancient Romans and Greeks often discovered fossilized bones of giant extinct lizard creatures (perhaps inspiring the ancient myth of "dragons"), but it was not until two millennia later that the English coined the term "dinosaur" and pursued formal study of paleontology.
Now, regarding fleets of massive flying drones the size of family sedans appearing regularly above US military bases and government buildings, and moving in sophisticated synchronized hover patterns, and even illuminating themselves rather than attempting to be stealthy, let's consider three explanations...
1.) They are controlled by space aliens from another planet...
- - Can't we all agree that this is laughably absurd and there is zero chance of this being true?
2.) They are controlled by "aliens" from our own planet, such as Russians or Chinese...
- - Then, how is it that the mighty US military is unable to shoot one down, or capture one, or simply track one (using ground based or satellite based observation) to where it inevitably must land to be collected and re-charged for subsequent use after its brief flight? It is silly to say we are unable to perform such an easy task, especially given many regular opportunities to do so.
3.) The are controlled by the US military or a US military contractor.
- - There is your answer. The reason why "they" refuse to admit or explain this, and "they" feign ignorance, is likely because these drones are conducting a type of domestic surveillance that, if publicaly know, would cause panic.
As a hypothetical example; they might be scanning and sniffing for radiation signatures every night, if the government believes there is credible threat of some faction trying to smuggle in a nuclear "suitcase bomb" or "dirty bomb". (There are of course other plausible scenarios in which nightly surveillance would be warranted, but public discussion regarding its explanation would be counterproductive or panic inspiring at this point in time).
The simplest answer is often the correct answer.
Awesome story about the 9-year-old! Good for her and her Dad.
As for the drones, our government keeps us in the dark about much of their capabilities. When it recently turned out the US had twice the military personnel in Syria than they had admitted, do you think for a minute, if they were involved with these drones, they would tell us? If it was from another country, would they tell us or even know? Remember the Chinese balloon fiasco? This was a slow-moving balloon and they waited until it went all the way over the country before downing it. I feel very strongly these are definitely man-made. Remember Russia and China strongly emphasis and reward scientists and engineers. Both countries have deployed hypersonic missiles while we play catch up. Who is to say one of these countries hasn't had a large scientific breath through we know nothing about?
